Ferrari’s 149M Project teased:

Ferrari have released a slight teaser for an upcoming model, due for reveal at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, dubbed the 149M Project.  While they haven’t confirmed the name of the car, it is fair to assume it will be a face-lifted Ferrari California (Code F149).

While Ferrari have released no further information, it would be fair to assume the California will receive a styling update with features from the F12, and naturally a power upgrade.  This will come in the form of a new engine, a 3.8-litre bi-turbo V8 currently found in the Maserati Quattroporte, which produces 390kW and 650Nm, an upgrade of 30kW and 146Nm over the current 360kW, 504Nm naturally-aspirated 4.3-litre V8.  This will place the California just 29kW shy of the 458 Italia in the power stakes.

The California is likely to retain the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and folding metal roof, but will possibly get a newer interior design and infotainment system to compliment the exterior perk-up.

We’ll bring you the full details on February 12th when Ferrari unveils the 149M Project.
