Kia SportSpace concept revealed ahead of Geneva:

We recently brought you news and a teaser of a new Kia concept that we believed to preview the new Optima sedan.  The SportSpace concept has now been revealed, and although it isn’t a sedan, it still bodes for a bold, bright future for the Optima – including the addition of a station wagon variant to the line-up in future.

The SportSpace wagon concept has been designed at Kia’s Frankfurt design studio, under the direction of Gregory Guillaume.  The goal of the vehicle is to provide “stylish and exciting transportation for four which is also spacious and functional, without sacrificing performance, sustainability, and economy”.  Basically, the SportSpace is a long distance touring wagon – with a focus on comfort and performance.

The shooting brake styling provides practicality of space, whilst looking pretty damn gorgeous.  There’s no word yet as to what powertrain the SportSpace features, but expect a new age turbocharged engine, of at least 2.4-litres displacement.

Whilst we know little more than this, we do know that this concept previews the next-gen Optima in both sedan and estate guises.  With bold looks and Kia’s recent run of form and quality, we can expect the next Optima to take the fight to the Honda Accord and Ford Fusion in a big way!
