Last year Subaru debuted the Viziv Concept to preview future tech and possibly a future model. Now, it’s been updated further in all aspects, and at Geneva they revealed the VIZIV 2 Concept.
Previewing future technology and design, the Viziv 2 represents a future generation crossover vehicle displaying the company’s future intentions. Design-wise it has been upgraded to a 5-door from the Viziv’s 3-door configuration, lending towards production-readiness. The sharp design features Subaru’s latest design elements such as the front and rear headlight design, while featuring a new, round light design at the front. The front grill and main headlamps are indicative of the boxer motor lurking behind them.
Powering the Viziv 2 is a hybrid drivetrain with a Lineartronic CVT transmission, featuring a 1.6-litre DIT boxer motor from the Levorg, as well as 3 electric motors, one at the front and to at the rear. All aspects of the drivetrain have been carefully placed so as to incorporate Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system, now with independent rear-driving motors.
The 4435mm long, 1920mm wide Concept features a wheelbase length of 2730mm, allowing space for 4 adults to comfortably fit inside. The interior design, although futuristic, is easily adaptable for production, and features simple, clean lines, and functional equipment.
Whilst the Viziv 2 remains a concept, we have to admit, it would go down brilliantly in production guise. Subaru, we hope you’re listening.
